When you select either of these options, your software connects you to or disconnects you from America Online.
SCREEN NAMES
This option, available offline only, provides a list of the "screen names" you have selected to choose from before you sign on for a session. You can create up to five screen names per billing account. These names are often used for different members of your family or to create "alter egos" for yourself.
You must be online to add or delete screen names. Once online, select Customize on the "Go To" menu; then pick "Add/Delete Screen Names."
DEPARTMENTS
Choose this to see the Department choices. They contain hundreds of things to do and areas to visit.
KEYWORD
This online feature allows you to "jump" directly to many areas of America Online. Using a Keyword is simple; just pick "Keyword" from the "Go To" menu or type command-K. Then type the Keyword of your choice--you'll move directly to the area of your choice without having to traverse through multiple windows.
Keywords are listed in several areas: choose "Keyword Help" from the form where you enter your Keyword, or see a full list in the Members' Online Guide.
DIRECTORY OF SERVICES
The Directory of Services is a searchable database that helps you find where to go online to see topics of interest to you. To use the Directory of Services, just choose "Search the Directory" from the Directory of Services menu. Then, type in a clue or key word that describes what you're looking for. You'll get a list of associated areas, and each will contain a brief description of each area and the location and keywords to move there quickly.

This free area is loaded with informative items. Find out what's happening online, what new service are available, the status of your current bill, answers from our Customer Relations department -- and just about anthing you need to know as an America Online member.
Our Online Support enables you to talk directly to our Customer Relations representatives when you have questions or comments about America Online. Our goal is to make sure you have the information you need to be a satisfied America Online member.
CUSTOMIZE
Edit Go To Menu:
This feature helps you customize the "Go To" menu to suit your needs and interests. You can choose the areas you frequently visit, and elevate their keyword to this menu, no matter where the area is online. Once you know the keywords to your favorite areas (see KEYWORD above), personalize the Go To menu using this feature, and you'll find it's easier than ever to move around.
Edit Address Book
Your personal Address Book is a handy way to keep the mail addresses you use on a regular basis well-organized. Use this feature to compile an America Online Rolodex. Keep track of your online associates using your personal Address Book. You can even list group addresses. For example, you might enter the "My Forum Leaders" under "Name" and then add the addresses AFLJCline, AFLWiggy, AFLCheryl under "Accounts." You have then set up a group address and every time you select "My Forum Leaders," the names of those accounts will appear. You'll use your personal Address Book from the Compose Mail screen to help you address memos.

Change Password
Here's where you go to change your password. You must be online for this function. If you have more than one account name, each can have a separate password if you prefer. You can only change the password of the account name you're online with at the time.
It is a good idea to change your password once in a while to ensure that your account is secure. If you use scheduled Flashmail, you will need to update your password in the Flashmail schedule as well. To update this password, go to the Scheduled Flashmail and click on the appropriate screen name until you are prompted for your new password.

Add/Delete Screen Names
Use this simple feature to either add another family member to your account, or to create an alter ego for yourself!
Change Member Profile
Use this to provide a little personal information for other America Online members. Keep your profile up to date--it will enable you to more easily meet other members with similar interests.
Set Preferences
Do you dislike that blinking Apple symbol when you have mail? Annoyed by the sounds bounding out of the chat room while you're trying to concentrate on an Excel file under MultiFinder? It's easy to control these options via the Preferences item. Simple check off any of the options presented to disable or enable them. (See also Help for "Setting Your Preferences" for a description of each option.)
Change Network Setup
This offline feature allows you to change your phone information or modem set up. Did you get a faster modem? Move or travel and want to change your phone number? Here's where you do it--when you're offline. (See also Help for "Setting Up Your Modem.")
